Volunteers Needed
I AM History is a Black-owned media company dedicated to celebrating Black history and culture, building a platform for the untold stories of exceptional achievements, pivotal moments, and the lasting influence of Black people around the world, throughout history to the present day.
We're an independent platform built by Black creators, powered by our community. There are soooo many more stories to tell and we're looking for volunteers to help us tell them.
What you'll be doing
Researching for campaigns and content projects
Drafting social media content across our platforms
Building out content calendars
Assisting with partnership outreach
What we're looking for
Someone who takes ownership. You won't need to be chased, you'll take a brief, run with it, and deliver. Beyond that:
Strong writing skills — clear, considered, and culturally informed
A good eye for social media content and what lands
Research ability and a knack for distilling information into something usable
Organisation and follow-through
Creativity, with the initiative to back it up
Commitment
Ideally 10 hours per week.

We champion the stories that history has sidelined, covering Black history, Black culture, and Black icons for a growing global community. We're independent, community-powered, and unapologetically committed to representation and authenticity.
As an intern, you won't be watching from the sidelines. You'll be contributing to campaigns, content, and projects that shape how Black history and culture is celebrated and shared. You'll build real editorial, research, and creative skills and you'll do it with a platform that's building something that genuinely matters.
